San Carlos Green

Global warming poses a significant threat to San Carlos and the Bay area. While action to systematically reduce greenhouse gas emissions is required across all levels of the public and private sector, the actions and policies of city governments, through their ability to influence and regulate land use, transportation, and local building practices, can have an especially powerful impact.

That's why San Carlos Green has partnered with the Sierra Club to launch a local Climate Action campaign. Our goals are to build community awareness and to let our elected officials know that we support taking action now to make climate action a higher priority in San Carlos.

3 Ways You Can Make A Difference:

1. Add your name to our online petition.

The petition asks the Mayor and City Council to sign the U.S. Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement* and to establish a Climate Advisory Task Force to help develop and implement a Climate Action Plan and Green Building program in 2008.  Sign the petition now.

*More than 750 cities have signed the U.S. Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement, including Redwood City, Menlo Park, Atherton, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Burlingagame, and San Mateo.

2. Ask the community organizations to which you belong to send a letter to the Mayor and City Council.
