New Curbside Pickup of your Hazardous Household Waste May 1 San Carlos residents will have a new curbside collection program that provides a
safe and convenient way to properly recycle old paint, solvents, insecticides,
cleaning products, fluorescent lamps, laptops, computers, monitors, TVs and
sharps. This innovative program benefits San Carlos by providing a convenient
way for residents to clean out their garage of this old hazardous material.
Also, many residents may improperly dispose of these hazardous materials which
then pollute our water and air. Read More and set up your next pickup of HHW!
San
Carlos City Council is Creating a Green Building Ordinance! The
San
Carlos City Council voted to include a Green Building Ordinance in the City's Climate Action Plan which lays a vision for meeting our emission reduction goal while reducing energy and water use and increasing waste diversion from buildings while saving natural resources and improving health. Buildings produce nearly 40% of our City's greenhouse gas emissions and this measure has the highest impact on those emissions while providing the second highest return on investment. The City is now in the process of developing a new ordinance to meet the goals of all stakeholders. We thank the Mayor and City Council for voting for a Green Building Ordinance in the Climate Action Plan to reduce our community's carbon footprint and protect our
future.
Read the compelling reasons
we provided to Council in support of a Green Building Ordinance. We encourage you
to stay informed and get involved by attending upcoming City meetings
and reviewing related announcements and materials
