San Carlos Green is Launching a New Climate Action Campaign . . . and We Need Your Participation!

There is an urgent need and a diminishing window of opportunity to act at every level to combat Global warming. San Carlos Green has partnered with local Sierra Club members to launch a local Climate Action Campaign to address these concerns.

Our primary objective is to engage SCG Members, residents, community groups, civic organizations and City government to reduce our Community's carbon footprint and protect our future. We have begun a letter-writing campaign requesting the City of San Carlos agree to four actions.

Urgent Action is Needed for an

Opportunity to Reduce our Waste Stream by up to 20%

Did you know that:

·         Food waste makes up over 20% of our landfills?

·         Our waste creates Methane Gas which is 21 times more potent than Carbon Dioxide as a greenhouse gas?

·         San Carlos has one of the worst waste diversion rates on the Peninsula?

The San Carlos City Council is currently reviewing a proposal from Allied Waste (along with 11 other members of the SBWMA) to provide weekly food and yard waste pick up for residents.
Learn how you can help make this a reality.
